Gary Berkson, CRS, ABR, CDPE of RE/MAX Central Realty in Lake Mary, Florida has been awarded  the prestigious Five Star Award from Orlando Home and Leisure Magazine for 2010.  Orlando Home & Leisure Magazine surveyed homebuyers and other industry experts to find the real estate agent in the Greater Orlando area who scored highest in overall satisfaction.

According to experts, at least 90 percent of homebuyers rely on real estate agents for advice and guidance.  This past August, Orlando Home & Leisure Magazine surveyed by mail and telephone Orlando area residents who had recently purchased homes in Central Florida.  Additional surveys were sent to mortgage and title companies who are often best able to judge a real estate agent’s technical skills and knowledge.

On the surveys, recipients were asked to evaluate only real estate agents whom they knew through personal experience.  They were asked to evaluate them based on nine criteria:

• customer service
• communication
• finding the right home
• integrity
• negotiation
• marketing the home
• marketing knowledge
• closing preparation
• overall satisfaction
